Product Description: Military Aircraft, Jet Age 1/144 Compatible with Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit
The Northrop B-2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is a strategic bomber developed by the American aerospace company Northrop during the Cold War. This iconic aircraft belongs to the exclusive category of flying wings and is one of the most famous existing stealth aircraft. The B-2 Spirit was originally designed for strategic bombing of Soviet targets during the Cold War, and has since been used in various conflicts, including operations in Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and others. Despite only 21 aircraft being built, the B-2 Spirit remains one of the most expensive aircraft of the 20th century, with an estimated unit cost of $3 billion US dollars in 2020. Its development sparked controversies in the United States Congress and among the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The inaugural flight of the first B-2 Spirit, named the Spirit of America, took place on July 17, 1989, and the first operational aircraft was delivered to the USAF by the end of 1993. This 1/144 scale reproduction of the B-2 Spirit is a collector's item, with neat and realistic finishes, delivered in a polystyrene box. It is part of the Military Giants of the Sky Collection by ATLAS Editions, making it a fantastic gift for any collector of very high-quality miniatures.
